Below are some terms and phrases you’ll need to know as you use the site:
BaB: short for BangaBuddy
BangVille: The fictional place where all BangaBuddy members are residents (fictionally). BangVille can be viewed by clicking on “Map”.
BangBucks: The currency of BangVille. Residents can earn BangBucks by performing well on the site, by winning certain contests, and for other contributions to the community.
The Daily Bang: BangVille’s newspaper. The FrontPage highlights the headlines from each subpage.
BaBble On: The Daily Bang’s editorial section, found on the Management page. Views expressed here are highly opinionated!
Management Feedback: The Daily Bang’s reader mail section found on the Management page. Let us know what’s on your mind!
The BaBShop: The official BangaBuddy shop where members can spend their BangBucks on BangaBuddy merchandise.
BangaBuddy Animation Workspace: The workspace used to create animations. All content components, tools, and collection libraries are accessed via the workspace.
Content Components: The content which can be added to the workspace in order to build an animation. In BangaBuddy V1.0, the components include backgrounds, characters, faces, active objects, and music.
Active Objects: These are essentially props that can be added to your animation. They are “active” because they can be manipulated unlike the details within the backgrounds.
EASY: The animation system used by the BangaBuddy Animation Workspace. EASY stands for “Easy Animation System, Yeah!” and is a family of tools designed to make online animation intuitive and fun for people of all technical skill levels.
The Orbit Control: Part of the EASY animation system. The Orbit Control enables users to rotate, flip, resize, and move objects within the Animation Workspace. Additionally, the control is used to attach faces and delete objects.
The BuddyBender Control: Part of the EASY animation system. The BuddyBender Control is used to bend buddies (characters) into various positions within the Animation Workspace.
The Layer Control: Part of the EASY animation system. The Layer control is divided into two sub-tools, the Overview Tool and Tweak Tool. The Overview Tool is used to change the relative order of characters and active objects via drag and drop. The Tweak Tool is used to fine tune the intricate interweaving of character body parts.
The Skintastic Control: Part of the EASY animation system. The Skintastic Control is used to match the skin color of characters to their faces.
The BangPath Control: Part of the EASY animation system. The BangPath Control is used to create motion for your characters by defining the direction, length, and speed of the desired movement.
“Dude, you just got BaB’d !”: This is what we say when your face ends up on BangaBuddy.
